CITVN COOP is a voluntary association of artists and entrepreneurs who produce and distribute cinematic 4K documentary and streaming media video productions broadcast live from the historic Dayton Arcade, a creative HUB for artists, entrepreneurs, educators and students. 100% of CITVN COOP net operating income supports Dayton's homeless citizens.

Share in Dayton Catholic Worker Movement community life. The beagle, a retired Fordham theology professor and I have a fully furnished 3rd bedroom to share with a student or a person in recovery from addictions. 80% of people living in a 12 Step (applied Catholicism) level-1 peer-supported sober house achieve sustainable faith - measured as one year of continuous abstinence from addictions. Pitch in and help 10 to 60 hours each week for room and board, training and assistance in bootstrapping your own startup business. Learn while you earn. Within walking distance to the R.T.A. bus hub, fitness room, grocery store, banks, 12 Step meetings, YMCA, Riverscape, Dragons baseball stadium, churches, restaurants, museums, government, library, fine and performing arts. Within minutes from University of Dayton, Wright State University and Sinclair Community College.

CITVN IS A NONPROFIT Coop

CITVN LIVE offers students from the University of Dayton, Wright State University and Sinclair Community College an opportunity to learn all aspects of 21st-century broadcast media production utilizing state of the art equipment. Classes may be structured as an internship. We will share a small stipend and pizza for participation in live event productions. Once qualified, students may join the co-op and check out the equipment to develop their own productions , filmed and live streamed within downtown Dayton. Co-sharing is a fundamental concept employed in distributist economics. As a co-op producer, you receive one share and have one vote.

CITVN LIVE organizes programming and creates academic distribution among 256,000 subscribers within 196 Catholic Universities, 16,000 parishes, NGOs and global thought leaders. CITVN COOP Program Managers gain experience in accounting, project management, call center and direct marketing technologies as prerequisite skills to starting their own Bootstrap Productions businesses. Structured as a social cooperative, CITVN members trade skills to bootstrap members business startups.


Job Responsibilities


  • The Program Manager coordinates and monitors program scheduling for keynote speakers, university and public access television stations broadcasts

  • Conducts outbound call center surveys of college professors and parishes

  • Respond to or route inbound calls and correspondence

  • Produce a monthly newsletter and manage subscriptions

  • Manage social media content distribution

  • Prepare and update schedules

  • Salesforce Events administration

  • Bookkeeping and records administration


Will Train:

  • FCC broadcasting rules and regulations

  • MS Teams project management

  • Zoom and Google Workspace tools

  • Salesforce database administration

  • SendInBlue newsletter design and distribution

  • Quickbooks account reconciliation

  • FaceBook, YouTube, LinkedIn social networks content distribution

  • AdWords and FaceBook video advertising campaign design and management

  • Google Analytics and website search engine optimization

  • Stipend paid for the sales of underwriter banners


Preferred:

Student Camera Operators

As a camera operator, you will be asked to operate the camera during all filming of documentary projects and some live broadcasts. Your responsibilities include setting up live broadcasts and caring for camera equipment to guarantee filming moves smoothly and stays on schedule. This is the perfect job for an individual who has an innovative, creative side behind the lens. Working with us gives you the opportunity to build a solid resume in the world of film and broadcast.


Job Responsibilities


  • Operate 4K Panasonic DVX200 camera as you record scenes for documentaries and live stream broadcasts


  • Know and apply the technical aspects of lenses, film, filters, light and camera settings to each shot to ensure the director gets the effect he or she wants.


  • Arrange studio sets to best suit the settings on the camera, and control the lighting equipment, film stock, audio and cameras to get the result the director desires.


  • Maintain, clean and test all broadcasting equipment and cameras to ensure every tool is in good working order each day before filming starts.


  • Watch filming sets closely to determine if problems are present in regards to camera angles and lighting and notify the director about issues before filming starts.


  • Remain updated on new technology and current industry trends to ensure you bring the latest methods to the job.


Will Train:

  • Practice in 4K Panasonic DVX200 advanced digital video techniques

  • Practice in 4K broadcast production setup and direction

  • Camera settings, angles and lighting are a critical element of visual storytelling

  • Saturday morning training and practice sessions

  • Stipend paid for live productions

Student director

  • Learn Newtek Tricaster 2 Elite broadcast platform

  • Experience directing 4K live stream broadcasts on location at the Dayton Arcade

  • Experience in MS Teams project planning, Excel scheduling, PowerPoint storyboard, Word scripting

  • Experience working in a multi-camera studio environment

  • Experience working with the latest 4K broadcast television technology, graphics and production devices

  • Work with business clients' marketing team to produce social content, ads, and content marketing pieces

  • Work with event clients to produce content for virtual events

  • Work with CITVN Forum keynote speakers in the HUB Shark Tank

  • Work with business clients to shoot stories for investor relations, training and sales enablement


Internship Qualifications


Will Train:

  • Saturday morning team meeting and practice sessions

  • Stipend paid for live productions

  • Work remotely on projects with Producer and Clients in MS Teams


Preferred:

  • Previous class work or advanced hobbyist experience with broadcast production studios

  • Preference given to Communications, Broadcast media and Film School students who have had classroom exposure to production studios

  • Preference given to poor people in recovery from addictions

Student Video Editor

CITVN COOP video editors handle the post-production phase of creating videos or films. CITVN COOP video editors hold their finished videos to high standards, aiming for coherent storylines, seamless transitions, visual appeal, and alignment with creative vision. Volunteers contribute to completing a 4K cinematic production project within a month.

Video Editor Skills and Qualifications

CITVN COOP video editors are well-rounded creatives with a good grasp of storytelling, photography, videography, and design. They have the technical expertise to use video and design software with ease, and they work well in high-pressure environments. Generally, we are a volunteer association of video editors with the following skills:

  • Adobe Premiere Pro

  • Adobe Photoshop

  • Adobe After Effects

  • Adobe Animate

  • Adobe Audition

  • NDI Tools

  • Google Site interactive video design


Work in our production studio or remotely from your home - Adobe Creative Cloud for Teams


Will Train:


  • Saturday afternoon training and practice sessions

  • Student interns receive a creative project to be completed in an agreed upon schedule

  • Stipend paid upon completion and acceptance of work product


Preferred:

  • Previous class work or advanced hobbyist experience with Adobe Creative Cloud apps

  • Preference given to Communications, Broadcast media and Film School students
